SFDT$–System Standard Format Date
and Time
The System Standard Format Date and Time (SFDT$) editing routine provides the calling
program with standard formats for dates and times. SFDT$ converts the current date
and time (or a specified date and time) into a string of ASCII characters. This string is
placed into a buffer provided by the calling program.
SFDT$ can create separate date and time formats or combine them together. The date
format can contain the century, year of century, month, day, abbreviation for month, and
abbreviation for day. The time format can contain the hour, minute, second, and
fractional second. The calling program determines the exact contents of the date and
time formats by selecting a date index and a time index.
There are eight standard date formats and three standard time formats to choose from.
