If S$ARCOM takes the error return, A1 contains the call status code and A3 contains<br />

the substatus code. These status codes are also returned in the packet fields<br />

SC$CALLST and SC$SUBSTAT, respectively. See 20.2.4 for an explanation of the<br />

status codes.<br />

If S$ARCOM takes the normal return, the COM call is successful. The following<br />

information is returned by COM to the caller:<br />

• Character text<br />

The address of the character text and the length in 9-bit bytes (characters) are<br />

returned in the fields SC$ITEXTB and SC$TEXTLEN, respectively. The character<br />

set type of the image read is the same as the output character set type.<br />

• Attributes<br />

The address of the attribute table and the number of entries are returned in the<br />

fields SC$IATTRT and SC$NUMATTR, respectively.<br />
