SAR$ WRITE S'Print_heading' Insert a heading at the top of all succeeding pages. The heading text must be in the ASCII/ISO character set with a maximum length of 96 characters. The caller places the heading text in the text buffer, and the length of the heading text in the field TEXT_BUFFER_BYTE_LENGTH. S'Clear_heading' Clear the heading from the top of all succeeding pages. S'Set_margins' Change the values for the page length, top margin, bottom margin, and lines per inch. The values are set by the caller in fields PAGE_LENGTH, TOP_MARGIN_LENGTH, BOTTOM_MARGIN_LENGTH, and LINES_PER_INCH. A value of -1 for any of these fields results in the device standard value being used. LINE_NUMBER_ON_PAGE PLUS Attribute: 18-bit integer The logical line number on the page to space to. This field is defined only for the CONTROL_FUNCTION S'Line_spacing'. PAGE_LENGTH PLUS Attribute: 18-bit signed integer The number of lines in a page. This field is defined only for the CONTROL_FUNCTION S'Set_margins'. TOP_MARGIN_LENGTH PLUS Attribute: 18-bit signed integer The number of blank lines used for a top margin; it must be less than 63 lines. This field is defined only for the CONTROL_FUNCTION S'Set_margins'. BOTTOM_MARGIN_LENGTH PLUS Attribute: 18-bit signed integer The number of blank lines used for a bottom margin; it must be less than 63 lines. LINES_PER_INCH PLUS Attribute: 18-bit signed integer SAR$ WRITE The number of lines per inch; it may be 6, 8, or -1 (device standard value). This field is defined only for the CONTROL_FUNCTION S'Set_margins'. Returns SAR_WRITE_CONTROL returns the calling status in the WRITE packet field CALL_STATUS. If the status is S'Normal', then the write control operation was successful. If the status returned from SAR_WRITE_CONTROL is not S'Normal', then an error has occurred and CALL_STATUS contains the status code. See 18.1.4 for a list of WRITE function status codes. 18.1.3.4. SAR_CLOSE_OUTPUT Procedure Call The SAR_CLOSE_OUTPUT procedure performs the necessary tasks to close the output operation. If the output type is an SDF element, the element is added to the program file table of contents. Initial Condition The calling program may set the following optional parameter in the WRITE packet to an appropriate value before calling SAR_CLOSE_OUTPUT: ELEMENT_CREATION_DATE_AND_TIME This parameter is described in 18.1.1.2. Calling Format PROCEDURE SAR_CLOSE_OUTPUT (WRITE_PACKET_ADDRESS: WORD MACHINE POINTER) IMPORTED ('SAR$CLOSO$PG'); Returns SAR_CLOSE_OUTPUT returns the calling status in the WRITE packet field CALL_STATUS. If the status is S'Normal', then the close was successful. If the status returned from SAR_CLOSE_OUTPUT is not S'Normal', then an error has occurred and CALL_STATUS contains the status code.
