Introduction If you install SYSLIB using COMUS (level 4R2 and higher), all of the routines and the common banks are placed in the SYSLIB product file SYS$LIB$*SYSLIB. The Collector (level 31R2 and higher) automatically searches SYS$LIB$*SYSLIB for referenced SYSLIB routines and places them in the absolute program that it is constructing. MASM (level 4R2 and higher) also automatically searches SYS$LIB$*SYSLIB. Several restrictions apply to the released level of SYSLIB. For details of these restrictions, see Appendix C. 1–6 7833 1733–004
Section 2 System Standard Procedures and Definitions This section describes system definitions and procedures that are provided by SYSLIB. System definitions are supplied to calling programs for information such as • Mnemonics for control registers • Names and bank descriptor indexes (BDI) for some system configured common banks and entry points to the common banks • Program file element subtype mnemonics and codes SYSLIB procedures perform functions such as • Generating calling sequences to SYSLIB routines • Generating ASCII and Fieldata character sets • Defining ASCII control characters 2.1. Common Bank Entry Points System configured common bank names, their associated BDI values, and the absolute values of the entry points to the common banks are defined in relocatable elements with CBEP$$ as the first six characters of the element name. This element naming convention is used by the Collector to detect the use of configured common banks. During program collection, the Collector automatically includes CBEP$$ elements that contain configured common bank names or entry points referenced in the program being collected. 7833 1733–004 2–1
