SAR$: READ Procedure SR$CALLST Status Codes Octal Code Status 034 The SDF data record or control record read exceeds the maximum allowed length of an SDF record. 0100 An unrecognized error has occurred in the SDFI routine. The SDFI error code is returned in T1 of the SR$STATUS field. 0101 An unrecognized error has occurred in an ACD subroutine. The ACD error code is returned in T1 of the SR$STATUS field. 0102 An unrecognized error has occurred in executing ER SYMB$. The SYMB$ error code is returned in T1 of the SR$STATUS field. 0103 An incorrect SDFI packet version is being used. The correct SDFI packet version is returned in T1 of the SR$STATUS field. 0104 An incorrect ER SYMB$ packet version is being used. The correct SYMB$ packet version is returned in T1 of the SR$STATUS field. A SR$CALLST status code of 0100 or greater is a SAR$ internal error. The READ procedure I/O status codes listed in Table 17–7 may be returned to the caller in the SR$IOSTAT field of the READ packet. Table 17–7. SAR$ READ 17.3. Supported Character Set Types for the READ Function Table H–1 lists 64 character set types defined for the OS 2200 system. Forty of these are referred to as ASCII-like. This means that the character set is essentially identical to the ASCII/ISO character set in the octal range 000 through 01777, with any differences being minor. Table H–1 identifies the character set types that are ASCII-like. Throughout this section, wherever ASCII or ASCII/ISO is used, the SAR$ capabilities apply equally to all ASCII-like character sets. The following character set types may be read from input files: • Fieldata 6-bit characters • ASCII-like characters, including ASCII/ISO 9-bit characters and ASCII/ISO 9-bit characters with embedded shift-coded kanji • Attributed character data (ACD) 17.3.1. Fieldata If the input images are in the Fieldata character set, they are translated to the ASCII/ISO character set before they are returned to the caller. The translated images are returned to the caller in the text buffer. No attributes are returned to the caller. 17.3.2.
