02 An I/O error has occurred in a READ procedure. See the IO_STATUS_CODE<br />

field for the status code and Table 17–4.<br />

03 An outdated READ packet version is being used.<br />

04 An invalid READ packet version is being used.<br />

05 An invalid value is specified for LINE_NUMBER_FORMAT.<br />

06 The value for IMAGE_BUFFER_ADDRESS is NULL; an address must be<br />

given for the input image buffer.<br />

07 The IMAGE_BUFFER_WORD_LENGTH is zero; a length must be given for<br />

the input image buffer.<br />

010 An invalid value is specified for REQUEST_TYPE.<br />

011 An invalid value is specified for UNTRANSLATE_MODE.<br />

012 The value for INPUT_BUFFER_WORD_LENGTH is too small; use the word<br />

length returned in RECOMMENDED_BUFFER_SIZE.<br />

013 The input file or element accessed is not SDF.<br />

014 An invalid value is specified in the ACCESS_TYPE field of the file information<br />

packet.<br />

015 An invalid address is specified in the READ_ADDRESS field; either the word<br />

offset is greater than 27 or the sector address is greater than the highest<br />

mass storage sector address of the file.<br />

016 The input image is too long to fit in the image buffer. The image buffer word<br />

length necessary to hold the entire image is returned in the field<br />

RECOMMENDED_BUFFER_SIZE. To reread the image, call SAR_READ with<br />

a larger IMAGE_BUFFER and IMAGE_BUFFER_WORD_LENGTH, and set the<br />

READ_ADDRESS to IMAGE_ADDRESS returned on the previous call.<br />

017 The character text is too long to fit in the text buffer and has been truncated.<br />

The text buffer byte length necessary to hold the character text is returned in<br />

the field RECOMMENDED_BUFFER_SIZE.<br />

020 The number of attributes is too large to fit in the attribute table. The attribute<br />

table word length necessary to hold all the attributes is returned in the field<br />

RECOMMENDED_BUFFER_SIZE.<br />

021 A partial image was read by SYMB$; call SAR_READ again to continue<br />

reading the image.<br />

022 An invalid SDF file or element label control record was read.<br />

023 An invalid SDF control record was read.<br />

024 The image read contains incorrectly formatted ACD or incorrectly formatted<br />

embedded shift-coded kanji.<br />
