SAR$ READ<br />

READ_ADDRESS_WORD_OFFSET<br />

PLUS Attribute: 6-bit integer<br />

The word offset into the mass storage sector address of the next image to be read.<br />

This field is used if the image to be read is not the next sequential image. If this<br />

field is set to zero, the next sequential image is read (default). This field is undefined<br />

if the input is not from an SDF file or element.<br />

READ_ADDRESS<br />

PLUS Attribute: word machine integer<br />

A one-word combination of the READ_ADDRESS_SECTOR and the<br />

READ_ADDRESS_WORD_OFFSET fields, where these fields are contained in bits<br />

13 to 36 and 1 to 6, respectively. (Bit 1 is the leftmost bit of the READ_ADDRESS<br />

field.)<br />

17.1.1.3. Information Returned by READ Procedures<br />

The following fields of the READ packet contain values returned by the SAR$ READ<br />

procedures to the calling program.<br />

CALL_STATUS<br />

PLUS Attribute: 18-bit status<br />

The status of the current call to SAR_OPEN_INPUT, SAR_READ, or<br />

SAR_CLOSE_INPUT. See Table 17–3 for an explanation of the READ procedure call<br />

status codes. This field may also be referenced as an 18-bit logical field with label<br />

CALL_STATUS_CODE.<br />

SUB_STATUS_CODE<br />

PLUS Attribute: 12-bit logical<br />

This field contains additional information for particular CALL_STATUS codes.<br />

IO_STATUS<br />

PLUS Attribute: 6-bit status<br />

The status of any I/O operations performed by the READ procedures. See<br />

Table 17–4 for the I/O status lists. This field may also be referenced as a 6-bit logical<br />

field with label IO_STATUS_CODE.<br />
