SAR$–Symbolic Access Routines<br />

The address of the buffer containing the internal file name. The file name must be in<br />

the ASCII/ISO character set, with length from 1 to 12 characters.<br />

FIP$ENBUF<br />

The address of the buffer containing the output element name. The element name<br />

must be in the ASCII/ISO character set, with length from 1 to 12 characters. This<br />

field is used only for output and an output file type (SW$OUTFILT) of 0 (SDF<br />

element).<br />

FIP$VNBUF<br />

The address of the buffer containing the output version name. The version name<br />

must be in the ASCII/ISO character set, with length from 1 to 12 characters. This<br />

field is used only for output and an output file type (SW$OUTFILT) of 0 (SDF<br />

element).<br />

FIP$EFB1<br />

The first set of 6 element flag bits (12 total), corresponding to bits 0 to 5 of word 3 in<br />

the Program File Element Table Item. See the Data Structures <strong>Programming</strong><br />

<strong>Reference</strong> <strong>Manual</strong> for further details. This field is defined only if reading from or<br />

writing to an SDF element.<br />

FIP$EFB2<br />

Second set of 6 element flag bits, corresponding to bits 6 to 11 of word 3 in the<br />

Program File Element Table Item. See the Data Structures <strong>Programming</strong> <strong>Reference</strong><br />

<strong>Manual</strong> for further details. This field is defined only if reading from or writing to an<br />

SDF element.<br />

FIP$ETYP<br />

The symbolic element type; see the Data Structures <strong>Programming</strong> <strong>Reference</strong><br />

<strong>Manual</strong>. This field is defined only if reading from or writing to an SDF element.<br />

FIP$ESTYP<br />

The symbolic element subtype; see 18.3 for element subtype definitions. This field<br />

is defined only if reading from or writing to an SDF element.<br />

FIP$ECYC<br />

The absolute cycle number of the SDF element. This field is defined only if reading<br />

from or writing to an SDF element. If reading from an SDF element and if the actual<br />

element cycle is not known, set this field to 0'77' to read all nondeleted element<br />

cycles.<br />
