Do’s Don’ts<br />

1. Fit each stone dry, correct in accuracy by cutting,<br />

be<strong>for</strong>e finally laid in mortar and fixed in bed.<br />

2. Mix mortar thoroughly and pour fluid mortar in<br />

joints.<br />

3. Restrict use of chips to fill interstices<br />

4. Ensure that mortar is confined to joints without<br />

smearing the faces.<br />

5. Protect stone masonry during construction against<br />

rain or frost.<br />
