An industrial visit to DuPont India Pvt. Ltd on 4 October 2012 by the students of MBA
Sem III Marketing B and MBA Sem III HR B of Parul Institute of Management and
Research accompanied by Prof. Vijayanti Tikyani and Prof. Dhara Joshi.
For the industrial visit at DuPont students have been given the bus as a transport facility
to reach at DuPont, Savli from college. The bus left at 1:35 and reached DuPont at 2:21
pm. The company is situated at Savli, Plot No 11, Gidc - Savli, Manjusar, Vadodara

Company profile
DuPont India is a wholly-owned subsidiary of E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company.
DuPont association with India started in 1802
In 1904 they started chemical plant in India.
The Head Office of DUPONT is in Gurgaon and Regional office in the Singapore
There are three sites of DUPONT, in Savli-1 where the production of pesticides and
Engineering polymers is done.
In Savli-2 there is second Site which is mainly dealing with production of paint which is
mainly used in the painting of cars.

As it is a chemical based company, their first priority is safety. So as a measure of
safety after reaching there the first interaction was with Mr. Mitesh Ramani and a
security officer who gave the basic safety instruction which are to be followed while we
are in the company.

All the students were divided in a group of two, group 1 i.e. HR B students accompanied
by Prof. Vijayanti Tikyani were taken to visit Pesticide plant and they explained
regarding the products which they are producing. They don’t supply their product
directly to the end users instead they supply their products to the companies who uses it
to prepare the finished goods and which is sold in the market.
They are producing various Pesticides, Insecticides and Fungicides in that plant.
The second group i.e. Marketing B students were accompanied by Prof. Dhara Joshi
and they were taken to the engineering polymer department where to took all the
students in the control room and explained about their products.
After visiting both the departments all the students were taken to their site 2 which
produces paints. And there they attended a class room session by Mr. Aishwarya
Ghatge, Mindset and behavior Leader. He started his presentation with the history of
the company; gradually he proceeded towards how they reached India. It included the
industries which they are serving and details about their products and at the end
concluded his presentation with a motivational video.
Once the presentation was over, it followed by question and answer sessions. Various
questions related to safety, services and competition were raised.
After this 1hour class room session they gave some refreshment to all the students.
After this industrial tour students actually learned about how the management principles
practically worked and what is their importance for the properly running the
organization.
