Procedures for reporting passenger misconduct:<br />
1. The bus driver will report misconduct occurring on the school bus to the transportation director.<br />
2. A School Bus Conduct Report will be completed and submitted to the appropriate school principal for action by the bus driver.<br />
3. The bus driver will receive a copy of the school bus disciplinary report before taking any action against the student involved.<br />
4. All disciplinary actions start the following morning unless instructed by the transportation director.<br />
Cafeteria<br />
Cafeteria Rules:<br />
1. <strong>Student</strong>s are to sit quietly and eat.<br />
2. Speak in a low voice.<br />
3. Do not throw food or paper.<br />
4. Line up quietly to empty tray when told to do so.<br />
5. <strong>Student</strong>s will obey the adults on duty.<br />
6. <strong>Student</strong>s will line up quietly in traveling position until their class is dismissed.<br />
Consequences:<br />
1. <strong>Student</strong> will receive one warning.<br />
2. <strong>Student</strong> will be moved to a “No Talk” table.<br />
3. <strong>Student</strong> may be referred to the principal. (Teacher will inform parent.)<br />
Checking in / Checking out<br />
<strong>Student</strong>s who arrive at school after 7:55 a.m. must be escorted to the office and must check in at the office. <strong>Student</strong>s who are leaving school must<br />
be checked out through the office by a parent, guardian, or person designated by a parent or guardian.<br />
Communication<br />
Communication – Teachers will make regular contact with parents concerning student grades, conduct, and/or excessive absences/tardies.<br />
Parents may be notified by phone, note or email. Parents or teachers may also request a conference when a need arises. Parents wishing to set<br />
up a conference MUST call the school office to make an appointment. Please inform us of new or updated phone numbers and addresses.<br />
Corporal Punishment<br />
Corporal punishment may be administered in accordance with the <strong>Blytheville</strong> School District policy. This policy requires that corporal punishment<br />
be administered as a last resort when all other means of discipline have not been effective. Corporal punishment will be administered by certified<br />
staff only, in private, witnessed by at least one other certified staff member. It shall not be excessive or administered with malice. Parents will be<br />
notified prior to the initial administration of corporal punishment and will be notified in writing every time thereafter.<br />
Prior to the administration of corporal punishment, the student receiving the corporal punishment shall be given an explanation of the reasons for<br />
the punishment and be given an opportunity to refute the charges.<br />
A parent or guardian may request in writing that corporal punishment not be administered. Alternative punishment shall be determined by principal<br />
which may include suspension.<br />
All corporal punishment shall be administered privately, i.e. out of the sight and hearing of other students, and shall be administered in the<br />
presence of another certified staff member as a witness, shall not be excessive, or administered with malice.<br />

Drills<br />
Fire, Tornado, Earthquake and Lockdown drills are held on a regular basis. <strong>Student</strong>s are trained as to what to do in the event of a disaster and<br />
evacuation routes are posted in the hallways and classrooms.<br />
When the city tornado warning signal sounds the outside doors to the building will be locked. Parents may come inside and wait, but no students<br />
will be allowed to leave the building until the all-clear signal is given.<br />
