Law provides: The council advises the division of special education policy and the division special<br />

education compliance and assistance within the state department of education on the<br />

education of children and youth with disabilities. The essence of the council’s purpose is to<br />

provide a broad base of input to department staff regarding policies, practices, and issues related to<br />

the education of children and youth with disabilities, ages birth through 21. (Public Law 94-142)<br />

SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST AND AUDIOLOGIST ADVISORY COUNCIL<br />

Law provides: The society conducts the annual <strong>Minnesota</strong> <strong>State</strong> Fair and administers the<br />

Paul. The society (and fair) is financially self-sufficient, using no tax dollars, and is governed by a<br />

10-member board of managers. The board is elected by the society’s authorized delegates,<br />
