Future Projects<br />

The Dodge SWCD has partnered with the<br />

Zumbro <strong>Water</strong>shed Partnership on a tile water<br />

bio-fi lter demonstration project (pictured). The<br />

bio-fi lter with be monitored by the SWCD for<br />

the next fi ve years. The goal of the project is to<br />

demonstrate how by running tile water through<br />

a bio-fi lter, a signifi cant reduction of nitrates<br />

will occur thus reducing nitrates released into<br />

surface water.<br />

The Dodge SWCD is an active participant<br />

of the newly formed Cedar River <strong>Water</strong>shed<br />

<strong>District</strong>. SWCD Supervisor David Livingston is<br />

an advisor to the CRWD. The WD is currently<br />

working to secure CWL funds and is in the<br />

process of preparing a 10-year comprehensive<br />

plan.<br />
