Recent Projects / Accomplishments<br />
SWCD Board of Supervisors<br />
A rain garden was recently created next to the<br />
St. Mary’s School building and parking lot. Students<br />
from Worthington High School, St. Mary’s School,<br />
and staff from the USDA Natural Resources <strong>Conservation</strong><br />
Service helped to design and plant the rain garden.<br />
Stormwater runoff from this area will now slowly<br />
fi lter through the rain garden into the ground before<br />
it gets to the city storm sewers. The SWCD provided<br />
funds for the project, and materials were also donated<br />
by local businesses. This project will be used as a<br />
demonstration plot for future rain gardens in the city.<br />
