Project History:
Highway 14 provides a direction connection
between Mankato and Rochester, both major
regional centers in southern Minnesota.
Project Benefits:
The purpose of this project is to improve the
connectivity, safety and level of service for users
on Trunk Highway 14 from Owatonna to the
westerly Steele County Line as part of an overall
effort to improve Trunk Highway 14 from Waseca
to Owatonna.
Project Risks:
Traffic detour during construction.

Project Description:
This project provides for a four-lane
expansion of Trunk Highway 14 from
Owatonna to the west Steele County Line.
The majority of this project in on a new
alignment, however, the existing interchange
at the southerly junction of Trunk Highway
14 and Interstate 35 will be reconstructed
along with short segments of both Trunk
Highway 14 and Interstate 35 in this area.
