This maze solving robot has been designed to provide<br />

It uses an advanced PICmicro 18 series microcontroller<br />

with internal precision motor controller circuitry,<br />

has 3 infrared distance sensors, line following<br />

sensors on a separate circuit board, a speaker, audio<br />

level sensor, light sensor, two spare switch inputs, 8<br />

user programmable LEDs, and various expansion buses - including an E-blocks port.<br />

ASURO is a small, mobile robot which has been<br />

developed for training and teaching purposes that<br />

can be programmed as required in C.<br />

Construction is simple for experienced electronic<br />

technicians, and can even be carried out by those<br />

starting to learn electronics. With the exception of<br />

the PCBs, only commercially available components<br />

are used, which drive easily obtainable normal fine<br />

motors.<br />

Programming is easy, using Freeware tools. ASU-<br />

RO is suitable for those who want to start using<br />

processor-controlled circuits, for student projects, for further and higher education courses.<br />

The Stellaris Brushed DC Motor Control is available as a stand-alone, ready-for-production<br />

Module and a Reference Design Kit.<br />

The Brushed DC motor control design offers high performance CAN networking with variable<br />

speed control for 12V brushed DC motors at up to 40A continuouscurrent, along with a rich set<br />

of control options and sensor interfaces, including analog and quadrature encoder interfaces.<br />

The design uses highly optimized software and a powerful 32-bit Stellaris LM3S2616<br />

microcontroller to implement open-loop speed control as well as closed-loop control of<br />

speed, position, or motor current.<br />

The high-frequency Stellaris-based PWM enables DC motors to run smoothly and quietly over<br />

a wide speed range. The LM3S2616 microcontroller’s robust combination of features, along<br />

with the efficient and deterministic performance of the ARM Cortex-M3 core, positions the<br />

design into a wide variety of consumer and industrial applications.<br />
