<strong>G11</strong> NEW AND EXPECTANT MOTHERS<br />
SUMMARY<br />
The County Council will assess the risks to all new <strong>and</strong> expectant mothers on its<br />
employment <strong>and</strong> do what is reasonably practicable to control the risks. It will also<br />
provide suitable rest facilities to new <strong>and</strong> expectant mothers <strong>and</strong> breastfeeding<br />
mothers.<br />
APPLICATION<br />
All County Council employees.<br />
RESPONSIBILITIES<br />
Directors <strong>and</strong> Assistant Directors<br />
Assessing the risks created by work to new <strong>and</strong> expectant mothers.<br />
Making appropriate arrangements to eliminate or control the risks.<br />
Recording locally the significant findings of risk assessments.<br />
Provide a room for rest purposes.<br />
Corporate Health <strong>and</strong> Safety Adviser<br />
Review <strong>and</strong> Revision of the Policy<br />
Employees<br />
Telling their manager as soon as they are able that they are pregnant so that a risk<br />
assessment can be carried out.<br />
