-: 2 :- Note: (1) Ex-servicemen holding higher rank of the above prescribed category may also compete in the recruitment for lower post provided they fulfil the eligibility criteria and also they furnish their willingness in writing that in the event of their selection they will not claim the post according to their rank they were holding in the Defence Forces. (2) Those who got Honorary rank while in service and retired, the Honorary rank will be considered for the equivalent rank in CISF. (3) Those who got honorary rank after retirement from service, the rank in which the individual was retired will be considered for the equivalent rank in CISF. The honorary rank bestowed after retirement will not be taken into account. (4) Persons who have already availed the benefit of Ex-Servicemen by getting re-employment in Government service etc., in any post, will not be eligible for the benefit of Ex-servicemen for this recruitment. All applicants will have to submit an undertaking as per Appendix – ‘H’. “Ex-servicemen” means a person who has served in any rank (whether as a combatant or as a non-combatant) in the Regular Army, Navy and Air Force of the Indian Union but does not include a person who has served in the Defence Security Corps, the General Reserve Engineering Force, the Lok Sahayak Sena and the paramilitary forces; and i) who has retired from such service after earning his/her pension; or ii) who has been released from such service on medical grounds attributable to military service or circumstances beyond his control and awarded medical or other disability pension; or iii) who has been released, otherwise than on his own request, from such service as a result of reduction in establishment; or iv) who has been released from such service after completing the specific period of engagement, otherwise than at his own request or by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency, and has been given a gratuity, and includes personnel of the Territorial Army, of the following categories, namely:- a) Pension holders for continuous embodied service; b) Gallantry award winners v) The Territorial Army Personnel will be treated as Ex-servicemen with effect from 15-11-1986. vi) The person serving in the Armed Forces of the Union, who on retirement from service, would come under the category of the Ex-servicemen as explained above may also apply for these posts one year before (as on the date of recruitment) completion of the specified term of engagement. They shall not leave the Uniform until they complete the specified term of engagement in the Armed Forces of the Union. Such candidates should submit a certificate from the Commanding Officer concerned as per Appendix – ‘G’. Contd…..P/3
II) AGE -: 3 :- a) For the post of Assistant Sub-Inspector/Exe Army service plus 3 years to be deducted from actual age and the resultant age should not exceed 25 years as on 30-01-2009. (Relaxable up to 05 years in case of SC/ST and 3 years in case of OBC candidates). The age will be determined from the Discharge Book. Break in service – Not more than 2 years (Should not have been retired before 30-01-2007) b) For Head Constable/GD Army service plus 3 years to be deducted from actual age and the resultant age should not exceed 23 years as on 30-01-2009. (Relaxable up to 05 years in case of SC/ST and 3 years in case of OBC candidates). The age will be determined from the Discharge Book. Break in service – Not more than 3 years (Should not have been retired before 30-01-2006) c) For the post of Constable/GD Army service plus 3 years to be deducted from actual age and the resultant age should not exceed 23 years as on 30-01-2009. (Relaxable up to 5 years in case of SC/ST and 3 years in case of OBC candidates). The age will be determined from the Discharge Book. Break in service – Not more than 3 years (Should not have been retired before 30-01-2006) d) For the post of Water Carrier & Sweeper Army service plus 3 years to be deducted from actual age and the resultant age should not exceed 23 years as on 30-01-2009. (Relaxable up to 5 years in case of SC/ST and 3 years in case of OBC candidates). The age will be determined from the Discharge Book. Break in service – Not more than 3 years (Should not have been retired before 30-01-2006) e) For the post of Follower Barber, Boot Maker, Carpenter, Cook & Washer Man Army service plus 3 years to be deducted from actual age and the resultant age should not exceed 30 years as on 30-01-2009.
