Remarks, <strong>cont'd</strong>. • LCD Display:<br />

New messages in the display will be affected by a NASC statement.<br />

However, a message that is already displayed will not be updated<br />

automatically. The display is, for all practical reasons, able to show all<br />

printable characters.<br />

• Communication:<br />

Data transmitted via any of the communication channels will not be<br />

affected as the data is defined as ASCII values, not as alphanumeric<br />

characters. The active character set of the receiving unit will decide the<br />

graphic presentation of the input data, e.g. the screen of the host.<br />

• Bar Code Printing:<br />

The pattern of the bars reflects the ASCII values of the input data and is not<br />

affected by a NASC statement. The bar code interpretation (i.e. the human<br />

readable characters below the bar pattern) is affected by a NASC statement.<br />

However, the interpretation of bar codes, that have been processed and are<br />

stored in the print buffer, will not be affected.<br />
