Code 39<br />

Alphanumeric bar code that is discrete, variable length, and self-checking.<br />

Character set includes a start/stop character, 10 digits, 26 letters of the<br />

alphabet, space, and six symbols. ASCII characters are represented by the<br />

alphanumeric characters combined with the six symbols.<br />

Code 93<br />

A variable length, high-density alphanumeric bar code. The complete ASCII<br />

character set may be encoded.<br />

Code 128<br />

Code developed by Computer Identics that encodes the full ASCII character set<br />

of 128 characters. Each character is represented by 11 modules and four bar<br />

widths.<br />

Compile and Run IRL Program character<br />

Sent by the host to define the end of a downloaded program and tell the reader<br />

to compile and run the program.<br />

Computer Response Required mode (CRRM)<br />

When enabled, the reader requires a response from the computer before the<br />

reader will accept more data. The message must be transmitted using the<br />

protocol currently in effect. The protocol characters only, with no data, are<br />

sufficient.<br />

concatenated code<br />

A subset of Codabar symbology. Two bar code labels are read as one where the<br />

stop code of the first label matches the start code of the second label.<br />

configuration<br />

The parameters selected to determine the operation of the reader.<br />

Configuration mode<br />

Mode used to select the parameters of the reader. One of two modes available<br />

in the reader.<br />

contact reader<br />

contact scanner<br />

A code reader (scanner) that requires physical contact between the code<br />

medium and the scanner.
