IRL Editor<br />

You use the IRL editor to develop, input, and edit IRL programs on the reader<br />

or on a terminal attached to the reader. The IRL editor has two modes:<br />

Command Line mode and Program Edit mode.<br />

In Command Line mode the editor accepts any of the commands listed in the<br />

following table. If you enter an invalid editor command, the editor displays an<br />

error message. For complete information on using the IRL editor, refer to the<br />

IRL Programming Reference <strong>Manual</strong>.<br />

Enter Exit Program Edit mode (when typed at the beginning of a new line)<br />

You enter Program Edit mode by using any command that edits your program,<br />

such as I (Insert). In Program Edit mode the editor displays a program line for<br />

you to edit. You can enter valid and invalid IRL statements. The statements are<br />

not checked until you compile the program.<br />

• Enter the $$ command, press Ctrl I, or scan the Enter IRL Editor command<br />
