Using Prompting Configuration Mode<br />

In Prompting Configuration, the <strong>9560</strong> prompts you step by step through all<br />

configuration tasks. The reader displays a prompt for each option within each<br />

parameter, beginning with the current setting. You can change each setting or<br />

accept it as is.<br />

The following pages explain how to enter Prompting Configuration, how to<br />

move around, and how to exit. The Standard Display Prompts table and Large-<br />

Type Display Prompts table list the configuration prompts and their options.<br />

The options are the same for the standard and large-type displays, but the<br />

prompts are different.<br />

Entering Prompting Configuration Mode<br />

1. Make sure that the reader is plugged in and the power is on.<br />

2. If the reader is connected to a CRT terminal, set the reader for buffered or<br />

transparent display to match the terminal setting. Scan one of these labels:<br />

Buffered<br />

*$+OC1$-*<br />

*$+OC1$-*<br />

Transparent<br />

*$+OC2$-*<br />

*$+OC2$-*<br />

3. Enter Prompting Configuration mode. Press Ctrl E from the keyboard or<br />

scan this label:<br />

The <strong>9560</strong> sounds one low beep and the reader displays the first Prompting<br />

Configuration screen.<br />
