Bovet-Pininfarina
The limited edition Chronographe Cambiano
Paolo Pininfarina turned to Pascal Raffy in
2008 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of his
company and from this partnership was
born the Tourbillon Ottanta, then the
Chronographe Cambiano and in 2012 the
Tourbillon OttantaDue.
The ties between the two companies were
strengthened for the launch of the Italian
concept car named Cambiano in honour of the
commune where Pininfarina has its headquarters
and also in homage to the timepiece
of the same name. Entirely conceived and
made by the Turin company, the electricallypowered
sports sedan is fitted with a special
edition Chronographe Cambiano dashboard
clock equipped with the Amadeo system, that
transforms the timepiece into a table clock,
a pocket watch or in this case a sports counter.
This ingenious system, thought out
by Pascal Raffy, allows the driver, in
only a few seconds and without
any tools, to take the clock out
of its socket in the car, and
immediately put it on his
wrist. The bracelet, which is
not made of rubber as it
usually is, but of the same
leather as the upholstery of
the prestigious car to ensure
the perfect harmony between
the different elements of the interior, that is
remarkably finished in oak wood-parquet
crafted from stilts on which Venice was built.
The Chronagraphe Cambiano speed counters
are also made from this particularly solid and
stable material.
