creator of cigars, has just published a very
beautiful book on the subject that one can leaf
through at La Couronne, his boutique on the
Rue de Rive in Nyon. The world of cigars and
the universe of books, are never very far from
each other. “Like a good book, each cigar is a
story; it has its grammar and vocabulary. The
emotions come as one reads and only finish at
the end”. These words of Vincent Krembel,
which illustrate a certain philosophy of life,
shared by everybody from planters to directors
of cigar houses, not forgetting the torcedores
in the factories, who continue the
ancestral technique of making cigars entirely
by hand, echo the comments of Zino Davidoff:
“There are in the slow, dignified and measured
gestures of the cigar smoker a ceremony
that permits him to recover rhythms that have
been forgotten and to restore communication
with oneself”.
