Ghosts and good spirits
There are two main product lines at Rolls-
Royce, at the head of which is the Phantom, as
those cars whose size seemed to make the services
of a chauffeur indispensible, have been
called since 1925. However the different versions,
coupe or convertible, have changed this.
Many owners drive their own Phantoms today.
To understand why, a test drive suffices. Even
to those used to large luxurious cars, the handling
of a saloon car of 2,5 tons turns out to be
astonishingly smooth and easy. And what
could we add about the silence of its engine and

its instant response? The V12 of 6.75 liters catapults
one forward to 100km an hour in less than
6 seconds. The trend was the inspiration for a
new more compact product line, but a name
still reflected by the beyond: Ghost. Slightly less
long (5399mm instead of 5842 or 6092mm for
the Phantoms), but still powerful (563 CV), it is
a car aimed at those who enjoy driving, but in
a sumptuous environment. At Rolls-Royce, to
talk about luxury or comfort would be an over
simplistic cliché. According to the company formula
it takes “60 pairs of hands” to assemble,
design and craft your Rolls. The most demanding
customizations are carried out. To talk
about a technical jewel: from now on is another
over simplistic cliché.
