Community Resources Chart – Clarification of the Categories
available. Frankie asked everyone if they had been able to go through the list. She
mentioned that at their last meeting George had given names of services missing.
She had asked everyone to bring a list of services provided to clients by each
organization. Food program in Cathedral City ‘Bridges of Hope’ can be included they
Analysis of accessibility for cities and regions: looking at the gaps in specific areas for
instance in Blythe, there is much missing there for families facing homelessness. For
instance regarding job training, it is evident that there are minimal resources in Blythe
1
for job training, George said that there is Palo Verde Community College in Blythe, and
he would get the address and details to us
Frankie started reviewing the communities: Banning –Beaumont—Cabazon, gaps are
education for job development and training , there are no universities, technical / trade
schools, and job development sources are minimal at best. They are served by the
Hemet EDD office. The closet community college is San Jacinto Community College.
Someone asked, is it possible that a college would build a satellite in communities they
serve at a distance?
There was an inquiry of whether this resource list would be for public access? Liz
clarified that that was never the intention. This resource list was developed to respond
to #9 on the 10 Year Plan -11 Key Recommendations, and to give the Steering
