The revenues and income that the State has perceived in foreign currency and which serve as the
basis to calculate the corresponding oil canon and sobrecanon are converted into national currency
using the purchase exchange rate that is published by the Superintendence of Banking and
Insurance on the day that the respective oil canon and sobrecanon transfer is made.
2.2.5 Canon and Sobrecanon Transfers
Once Perupetro has calculated the distribution amounts and DGDFAS - MEF (antes DGAES –
MEF) has determined the distribution indices, the Secretariat of Decentralization of the President’s
Office of the Council of Ministers (PCM) calculates the amounts that will be transferred to the
districts, provinces and corresponding departments and sends this information to the DGTP – MEF
so that it can make the corresponding transfers to local and regional governments.
