It has always been important for the broadcast and video production industry to handle a
wide array of signals at the optimal efficiency.
Responding to this, Sony is proud to introduce a new-generation “hybrid” routing system, the
IXS-6000 Series. Comprising two models, the IXS-6700 and IXS-6600, this series can handle not
only SD and HD video signals, but also audio, RS-422A, and time code within a single chassis.
This gives both space- and cost-saving benefits.
The IXS-6000 Series routers are equipped with a common Ethernet interface, allowing a
sophisticated yet easy-to-configure network-based control system to be established.
The well-proven S-BUS interface is also provided to enable easy integration into existing
routing systems. Another advantage is the unique ability to integrate with Sony’s MVS-8000G
and DVS-9000 switchers, bringing a number of great benefits such as bidirectional operational
control, source name exchange, and tally management.
In addition to the wide variety of optional control panels represented by the well-proven
BKS-R1617A Multi-Display Control Unit that can be used with the IXS 6000 series routers,
Sony is also introducing the BKS-R6010 Universal LCD Remote Panel, which is equipped with
LCD buttons for an enhanced level of operability.
Packing these features into a compact chassis, the IXS-6000 Series Routing System is a
cost-effective and smart solution for installation into a broad range of facilities, including
those limited by space.

– Multiple bit-rate video signals (HD/SD or SD only)
ranging from 143 Mb/s to 1.485 Gb/s
– Re-clocking capability for multiple bit-rate signals
including DVB-ASI
• AES/EBU audio routing
– Up to 256 x 272 (IXS-6700)/128 x 136 (IXS-6600)
matrix by the use of TDM (Time Division Multiplexing)
techniques
– Optional Sampling Rate Converter module is available to

- User-defined names can be displayed on the multi-
function buttons (English, Chinese, and Japanese).

■ High Reliability

– Equipped with main and backup CPU board as standard

– Monitors communication quality, link status, and backup

– Detects mismatch of settings between main CPU and

– Information on status/errors can be displayed on the
router’s front panel
