Rasputin
Description: The presence of Rasputin at the court of Czar Nicholas II will
bring a lot of negative effects on Russia.
Historical notes: Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin, often called the “Mad Monk”,
was a Russian mystic and was believed to be a psychic and faith healer.
He was perceived as having great influence on the Russian Czar Nicholas
II, his wife the Czaritsa Alexandra, and their son the Czarevich Alexei.
Rasputin might have helped to discredit the tsarist government, which led
to the fall of the Romanov dynasty in 1917. However, contemporary
opinions consider him as being just a religious charlatan. Given that most
of the sources are just dubious memoirs, hearsay, and legend, there is
much uncertainty concerning the life of the “Mad Monk”.
Conditions: automatic.
Difficulty: die roll 2+.
Enter in play: Events phase, any turn.
Moika Palace, where cakes and red wine were served to him, both
