Colonial Uprising (against Russia)<br />
Description: This event will generate rebellions in one colony.<br />
Historical notes: Throughout the areas controlled by the colonial<br />
powers sporadic uprisings took place as native peoples rebelled against<br />
foreign rule and the exploitation of land and people. In trying to remove<br />
the colonial regime Rebels were often only concerned with<br />
defending indigenous traditions and improving their immediate local<br />
conditions and generally were not seeking the creation of a sovereign<br />
nation-state.<br />
Conditions: automatic.<br />
Difficulty: die roll 3+.<br />

End of Colonial Uprisings<br />
Description: This event will remove all negative effects brought in play by<br />
the Colonial Uprisings.<br />
Historical notes: In the colonial era popular revolts against occupation were<br />
routinely suppressed by overwhelming force leading to the deaths of many<br />
thousands of native people. The end of colonialism would not be seen until<br />
after the Second World War when the loosening of the control that the<br />
colonial powers exercised over their colonies finally allowed them to gain<br />
independence.<br />
Conditions: at least one “Colonial Uprising” event has occurred.<br />
Difficulty: die roll 5+.<br />
Enter in play: Events phase, any turn.<br />
174 World War One: La Grande Guerre 1914-1918<br />
Option #1: (historical choice) Uprisings quelled – All uprisings quelled,<br />
nations may free the garrisoning Corps eventually located in rebel areas.<br />

Nationalist Agitation (against Austria-Hungary, event #1)<br />
Description: This event will generate rebellions in Austria-Hungary.<br />
Historical notes: The 19th and early 20th centuries saw an outpouring of<br />
nationalist expression throughout Europe and the Middle East as groups<br />
who spoke the same language or shared a common ethnicity fought to<br />
build their own nation states. Instability came from the formation of<br />
nationalist movements seeking national unification or liberation from<br />
foreign rule. As a result, the period saw a large number of revolutionary<br />
attempts and independence wars.<br />
Conditions: automatic.<br />
Difficulty: die roll 4+.<br />
