Multi-Faith Services and Meetings in Baltimore<br />

Relaxation Room available in the Hilton Hotel on the 3rd Level Stone<br />
Room. The Pan African Network and the Commission for Spirituality,<br />
Faith, Religion and Meaning will offer “A Celebration of Being: A<br />
Multi-Faith Experience” on Monday, March 28, at 7:00 - 7:45 am in<br />
the Hilton Baltimore - Key 11.<br />
Staying Healthy During <strong>Convention</strong><br />
Tips for staying healthy are provided by the Commission for Wellness:<br />
• Get some rest. Many people may be traveling from long distances<br />
to Baltimore, contributing to an increased feeling of fatigue and jet<br />
lag. Make sure you get at least seven hours of sleep to keep yourself<br />
stress-free and motivated.<br />
• Make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Keeping<br />
your body hydrated will help keep you focused and energized.<br />
• Manage your money. It is very easy to spend more money than usual<br />
while out of town. Give yourself a budget for each day and avoid<br />
situations where you might spend more money than usual.<br />
• Eat healthy. It sounds simple enough but many people lose their<br />
healthy eating routines while away from home. Make sure you check<br />
out the local restaurant menu to find some healthy eating options<br />
while in Baltimore.<br />
• Attend to your faith, religious, or spiritual practices while at the<br />
convention. Check out local services or visit the Prayer, Meditation<br />
and Relaxation Room available in the Hilton Hotel on the 3rd Level<br />
Stone Room.<br />
• Continue your exercise routine, whether you run, walk or use the<br />
gym on a regular basis. Find a friend at the convention who will help<br />
keep you motivated by exercising with you during the day. Make<br />
sure you check out the gyms in your hotel and the local parks and<br />
areas in Baltimore to walk or run.<br />
• Avoid flight and travel issues at the end of the convention by giving<br />
yourself plenty of time to get to the airport. Make sure you stay<br />
hydrated while traveling and get plenty of rest once you are home.<br />

Sustainability at the <strong>Convention</strong><br />
Turn IT Off — Limit the length of your showers in the hotel. Unplug<br />
electronics in your hotel room such as cell phone chargers and laptops.<br />
Turn off lights, heat/AC when you are not in your room and request<br />
that housekeeping does not leave lights, TV, and/or radio on with<br />
turndown service.<br />
Reuse IT — Reuse your hotel towels and linens.<br />
Walk IT — Walk when you can. Take public transportation or shuttle<br />
services if it is not feasible to walk; use an environmentally-friendly<br />
taxi if you must use a taxi for transportation.<br />
Spend IT Locally — Venture beyond the convention bubble to<br />
experience some of the local culture and community. When possible,<br />
choose to eat at a local restaurant or purchase local items. This will<br />
help the local economy and will financially assist those who may need<br />
it the most.<br />
Offset IT — Consider donating to non-profit organizations that allow<br />
you to offset your carbon footprint, like carbonfund.org. To make a<br />
carbon-offsetting donation at the convention, visit the Hospitality<br />
Table. Our volunteers would be glad to assist you!<br />
Recycle IT — Recycle your nametag and program book. Do you have<br />
gently used clothing you’d like to donate to a local charity? Attendees<br />
are invited to contribute business attire to Baltimore-area charities that<br />
help job seekers put their best foot forward by providing wardrobe<br />
