The World Bank‟s <strong>in</strong>vestment <strong>in</strong> <strong>education</strong> sector <strong>in</strong> all parts <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> world has been ris<strong>in</strong>g<br />

cont<strong>in</strong>uously s<strong>in</strong>ce 1963. This <strong>in</strong>crease is more prom<strong>in</strong>ent <strong>in</strong> Africa <strong>and</strong> Asia. Among <strong>Asian</strong><br />

regions <strong>the</strong> biggest <strong>in</strong>crease <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Bank‟s <strong>in</strong>vestment is seen <strong>in</strong> south Asia where an <strong>in</strong>crease <strong>of</strong><br />

400% registered dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> last two decades. On <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r h<strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Middle East <strong>and</strong> North<br />

Africa <strong>the</strong> World Bank saw a decrease <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>vestment <strong>in</strong> <strong>education</strong> sector dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> last<br />

decade. The Lat<strong>in</strong> America <strong>and</strong> Carribean region surpassed all o<strong>the</strong>r regions <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> total amount<br />

<strong>of</strong> loan for <strong>education</strong> sector dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> last two decade.<br />
