Andritz receives its third tissue machine order<br />
from Hengan, China. Also, Procter & Gamble,<br />
Germany orders a tissue machine modernization<br />
at their Neuss mill.<br />
Major supplier for market pulp mill<br />
Andritz is selected as a main supplier for Mreal’s<br />
new BCTMP (Bleached Chemi-Thermo<br />
Mechanical Pulp) market pulp mill to be built in<br />
Kaskinen, Finland. Scope of supply comprises<br />
equipment for chip handling and impregnation,<br />
bleaching/washing, drying, and auxiliary equipment.<br />
APRIL<br />
70 th MDF refining system for China<br />
Andritz receives an order from Shandong<br />
Chenming Group, China to supply a pressurized<br />
refining system for Medium Density Fiberboard<br />
(MDF). This is Andritz’s third delivery of an MDF<br />
refining system to Shandong Chenming, and its<br />
70 th to China.<br />
Successful start-up<br />
The single-line chemical recovery plant – one<br />
of the largest worldwide – supplied by Andritz to<br />
UPM-Kymmene’s Pietarsaari mill in Finland starts<br />
up precisely on schedule.<br />
JUNE<br />
Acquisition of NETZSCH Filtration<br />
Andritz acquires NETZSCH’s Filtration business<br />
unit (a supplier of dewatering systems for industrial<br />
and municipal applications).<br />
New joint venture<br />
Andritz and German Rheinhold & Mahla AG<br />
form a 50:50 joint venture to provide comprehensive<br />
maintenance services to pulp, paper, and<br />
MDF mills in Europe. The new company is called<br />
European Mill Service GmbH (EMS) and is based<br />
in Graz, Austria.<br />
Andritz to supply market pulp mill to Estonia<br />
Andritz is selected to supply all major production<br />
systems – woodyard, chip handling, impregnation,<br />
refining, bleaching, dewatering, drying, and baling<br />
– for a new chemi-mechanical pulp mill to be built<br />
in Kunda, Estonia.<br />

JULY/AUGUST<br />
Andritz to build stainless steel mills in China<br />
Andritz receives an order from the Taigang Group<br />
in China to supply the world’s largest annealing and<br />
pickling line for cold-rolled steel strip. Shanghai<br />
and pickling line from Andritz for a new steel mill<br />
being constructed in Shanghai, China.<br />
SEPTEMBER<br />
Acquisition of VA TECH WABAG’s fluidized<br />
bed drying systems<br />
Andritz acquires the fluidized bed drying systems<br />
Business Area of VA TECH WABAG, Germany, a<br />
global supplier of plants for granulation and drying<br />
of solutions, suspensions, and bulk materials. This<br />
acquisition further expands Andritz’s dryer product<br />
range.<br />
Large order from Chile<br />
Andritz receives an order from CMPC to supply<br />
a complete fiberline, including pulp drying and baling,<br />
Recovery Boiler, and white liquor production<br />
plant for the new Santa Fe Line 2 Pulp Project in<br />
Chile. Total value of the order is approximately 320<br />
MEUR.<br />
Acquisition of Otto Kaiser<br />
Andritz expands its product portfolio in the<br />
Rolling Mills and Strip Processing Lines Business<br />
Area by purchasing certain assets of Otto Kaiser<br />
GmbH, Germany, a manufacturer of high-performance<br />
mechanical presses for the processing of<br />
steel strip into stampings and drawing parts.<br />
OCTOBER<br />
Recovery boilers for Sweden and the USA<br />
Swedish SCA and Weyerhaeuser of the USA<br />
order High Energy recovery boilers to maximize<br />
energy production and to further reduce emissions.<br />
DECEMBER<br />
New fiberline for APPM<br />
The Andritz Group will deliver a new fiberline,<br />
recovery island, and woodroom upgrade to the<br />
Rajahmundry mill of Andhra Pradesh Paper Mills<br />
(APPM) in India.<br />
