April 16, 1792, in Orange Co., Va. He came to Ky. when about seventeen years old and was a soldier in the war of 18 12. He m. (1), Dec. 20, 18 18, Elizabeth Karson of Fayette Co., Ky. She was b. Oct. 12, 1792, in Jessamine Co,, Ky. T d. March 4, 1854, in Fayette Co. He m. (2), 1856, Mrs. Sallie Hunt who was a sister of his first wife. She d. June, 1890, aged 87 years. No children by second marriage. He d. Oct. 18, 1876. He was a large slave owner, a prosperous farmer, a good and highly respected citizen. In politics, a strong and active democrat, a member of the Christian church. He lived many years two miles from the city of Lexington, Ky., on the Nicholasville pike, where he owned a large and valuable farm of 400 acres, and where most of his children were born and married. He was a large and fine looking gentleman, a warm-hearted man, kind, good, and generous. Always willing and
