Of this number several bad removed to other towns, some had<br />

deceased, and only eleven, namely. Syllice, Hatlierly, Foster, Turner,<br />

Vassel, King, Lapham, Chittenden, John and Christopher Win-<br />

ter, and Steadman, <strong>of</strong> the male members, were left in church state,<br />

when Mr. Lotlirop removed, that is, it does not appear by Mr. Lothrop's<br />

records that either <strong>of</strong> these eleven had deceased or removed<br />

from Scituate in Oct. 1639, though it does not appear by subsequent
