Of this number several bad removed to other towns, some had
deceased, and only eleven, namely. Syllice, Hatlierly, Foster, Turner,
Vassel, King, Lapham, Chittenden, John and Christopher Win-
ter, and Steadman, of the male members, were left in church state,
when Mr. Lotlirop removed, that is, it does not appear by Mr. Lothrop's
records that either of these eleven had deceased or removed
from Scituate in Oct. 1639, though it does not appear by subsequent
