I. Benney, born 15th Aug., 1705, died June, 1706.<br />

II. Mercy, born 4th Feb." 1706, married Nov. 7, 1728,<br />

Sylvanus Cobb, and had eight children.<br />

III. Sarah, born 4th Oct., 1708, died Nov. 19, 1708.<br />

IV. Nathaniel, born 15th Dec, 1709, married 1732, Ann<br />

Lumbard <strong>of</strong> Newtown, and had 1st, Isaac, born 2d<br />

April, 1734; 2d, Mercy, Gth May, 1738; 3d, Benne,<br />

2d Oct., 1751 ; 4th, Anna, 18th Jan'y, 1754. Isaac<br />

<strong>of</strong> this family married Rebecca Lewis, Oct. 6, 1754,<br />

and had Rebecca, James, Lewis, Ezekiel, Nathaniel,<br />

John, who removed to Brewster, and Isaac who died<br />

in <strong>Barnstable</strong>, unmarried, about 20 years ago.<br />

V. Nicholas, born Gth Nov., 1711, 'married Dorcas Backus<br />

<strong>of</strong> Sandwich, was <strong>of</strong> Dighton, removed to <strong>Barnstable</strong><br />

in 1635. He was a mariner, and died Jan'y<br />

31, 1739-40. He had 1st, Nath'l who died young<br />

2d, Ebenezer, and 3d, David.<br />

VI. Sarah, 2d Nov., 1713, married Oct. 26, 1732, Jona.<br />

Sturgis.<br />

VII. Thankful, 28th March, 1715, married Jan'y 1, 1734,<br />

Jesse Cobb.<br />

VIII. Benne, 28th Sept., 1716, married Patience Lumbard,<br />

Nov. 19, 1741. He died 29th Dec, 1747, and she<br />

died 28th Dec, 1748, leaving two orphan children,<br />

John, born 3d Jan'y, 1743, and Thankful, born 29th<br />

June, 1745—both <strong>of</strong> whom married and had <strong>families</strong>.<br />

IX. Elizabeth, born 9th March, 1718, married Benjamin<br />

Nye, Jr., <strong>of</strong> Falmouth, Sept. 28, 1738.<br />

There are very few descendants <strong>of</strong> Honest Nicholas<br />

Baker, now remaining in <strong>Barnstable</strong>. Dea. John, who removed<br />

to Windham, Conn., was a prominent man; but the<br />

other members <strong>of</strong> the family have not been distinguished.<br />

The Baker <strong>families</strong> at Hyannis are descendants <strong>of</strong> Fran-<br />

cis, who settled in Yarmouth.. Their pedigree is as follows :<br />

Francis Baker, from Great St. Albans, Hertfordshire, Eno-land,<br />

came over in the Planter, 1635, aged 24, married in<br />

1641, Isabel Twining, and had six sons and two dauo-hters.<br />

Nathaniel, his eldest son, born March 27, 1642, had three<br />

sons; Samuel, the eldest, born Oct. 29, 1670, married July
