his daughter Fear, and the fact that the widow Grace Baker<br />

had also resided in this family, probably gave rise to the<br />

tradition that Isaac Robinson's mother came over with him,<br />

and died in <strong>Barnstable</strong>.<br />

I find no record <strong>of</strong> the children <strong>of</strong> Samuel and Fear<br />

Baker. Deacon John and Nathaniel were their sons, and<br />

Mary, who married Oct. 26, 1699, Adam Jones, and Grace,<br />

who married Dec. 16, 1701, Israel Luce, were probably<br />

their daughters.<br />

Deacon John Baker married 14th Oct. 1696, Anna,<br />

daughter <strong>of</strong> Samuel Annable. She died March 21, 1732-3,<br />

"aged near 57 ^'ears," and was buried in the ancient graveyard<br />

at West <strong>Barnstable</strong>. After the death <strong>of</strong> his wife he<br />

removed to Windham, Conn.<br />

Children born in <strong>Barnstable</strong>.<br />

I. Annah, 8th Sept., 1697, married Oct. 17, 1717, Capt.<br />

Samuel Lombard. She died May 19, 1747.<br />

II. Mary, 18th Aug., 1699, married April 20, 1720, Benjamin<br />

Lothrop, and afterwards removed to Connec-<br />

ticut.<br />

III. John, 14th June, 1701, Died young.<br />

IV. Eebecca, 8th Sept . 1704.<br />

V. Samuel, 7th Sept., 1706, married May St), 1732,<br />

Prudence Jenkins ; had 1st, Martha, 24th Jan'y,<br />

1732-3; 2d, Anna, 12th May, 1735; 3d,,Bethia,<br />

12th June, 1737; 4th, Samuel, 30th Sept., 1740;<br />

5th, Mercy, 30th May, 1743. This family removed<br />

to Windham, Conn.<br />

VI. Mary, 25th March, 1710, married Lemuel Hedge <strong>of</strong><br />

Yarmouth, 1733.<br />

VII. Mehitabel, 7lh May 1712, married Eben'r Crosby <strong>of</strong><br />

Yarmouth, Jan'y 10, 1734.<br />

VIII. Abigail, 1st Feb., 1713-4, married Ichabod Lathrop<br />

<strong>of</strong> Tolland, Conn., Nov. 9, 1732.<br />

IX. John, 1st Dec, 1716, married Mercy Gary <strong>of</strong> Windham,<br />

Conn., Dec. 7, 1744.<br />

X. Hannah, 24th March, 1718.<br />

Nathaniel Baker resided in the East Parish, his house,<br />

yet remaining, is on Baker's Lane. His first wife, the<br />

mother <strong>of</strong> all his children, is not named on the record, tie<br />

married 5th Jan'y, 1718-19, AVid. Mercy Lewis. He died<br />

in 1750, and his widow, Dec. 7, 1768, aged 80, according to
