Jonathan, Sept. 21, 1733. Mrs. Mary Davis was dismissed Sept.<br />

weaver, died unmarried; 3, Shubael, March 19, 1729, married<br />

Thankful Lewis, Jr., April 30, 1852; 4, Mary, July 18, 1731,<br />

married Thomas Young Feb. 1759-60 : 5, Mehitabel, March 9,<br />

1733-4, married 1st Gershom Cobb Feb. 6, 1761-2, and 2d,<br />

Nathaniel Lothrop,' 1776 ; 6, Seth, Dec. 27, 1736; 7, Hannah,<br />

Sept. 6, 1739, married David Childs April 4, 1758, and through<br />

her the ancient Davis estate passed<br />

(58-8) Noah Davis, son <strong>of</strong> Dolar, married. May 7, 1724,<br />

9, 1728; Eunice, April 20, 1734; John, baptized July 4, 1742;<br />

Joseph, Oct. 21, 1746.<br />

Eunice married Jabez Claghorn Nov. 21,<br />

(60-1) Nathan Davis, son <strong>of</strong> Jabez, was a wheelwright, he<br />

married, 24th Nov. 1714, Elizabeth Phinney, and had Jabez 7th<br />

Oct. 1715; Sarah, 12th<br />

Isaac, 9th June 1720.<br />

Aug. 1717; Elizabeth, 15th Sept. 1718;<br />

He administered on his brother Isaac's<br />

estate in 1710.<br />

Solomon, sou <strong>of</strong> Jabez Davis, married Mehitabel Stertevat <strong>of</strong><br />

Sandwich, and removed to that town.<br />

Stephen born July 6, 1746. Mary married<br />

(70-1) Nicholas Davis, son <strong>of</strong> Timothy, belonged to the<br />

Society <strong>of</strong> Friends and resided at Rochester. He was a Quaker<br />

preacher, and spent most <strong>of</strong> his time in Rochester and Dartmouth.<br />

He however travelled extensively, visiting North Carolina,<br />

Virginia, New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New<br />

York. On his return from a journey from New York he<br />

was taken sick <strong>of</strong> a fever and died at the house <strong>of</strong> William Russell<br />

in Oblong, 10th month, 7th Oct. 1775, (after 1752 January was the<br />

first month) in the 65th year <strong>of</strong> his age. He married thrice.<br />

1st, Mary, 2d, Hannah, and 3d Ruth. By his first wife he had<br />

Nathan born 11th month, (Jan.) 28, 1715-16; Elizabeth, 11<br />

month, 20, 1718-19. By his second wife he had no children. By<br />

his third wife, Timothy, born 2d month (April) 9, 1730.; Nicholas,
