married Martha Nye, and has descendants living. Joseph<br />

and Prince owned and occupied the ancient Crocker house,<br />

and both lived to extreme old age. 9, Temperance, born<br />

July 28, 1776, married Ezra Crocker; 10, David, Feb. 21,<br />

1779, married Rachell Bacon, and his sons Eben, Frederick<br />

and Henry, and daughter Caroline, are now living; 11,<br />

Josiah, Aug. 24, 1781, died unmarried at New Orleans.<br />

103-. X. Timothy, Aug. 23, 1728.<br />

104. XI. Jonathan, born Nov. 22, 1731, mawied May 2, 1754,<br />

Sarah Childs. He died <strong>of</strong> the small pox Dec. 4, 1796, and<br />

his wife Sarah <strong>of</strong> the same disease Dec. 16, 1796. He was<br />

the iirst buried in the Crocker burying ground. He has<br />

descendants living.<br />

(30) David Crocker, Esq., youngest son <strong>of</strong> Dea. Job<br />

Crocker, born 5th Nov. 1697, graduate <strong>of</strong> Harvard College 1716,<br />

resided on the John Crocker farm at West <strong>Barnstable</strong>. He was<br />

many years town Clerk, transcribed the ancient town records, now<br />

lost. The records <strong>of</strong> the births <strong>of</strong> the Crockers he arranged<br />

genealogically. He was many years one <strong>of</strong> the board <strong>of</strong> selectmen,<br />

and in 1742 a justice <strong>of</strong> the Court <strong>of</strong> Common Pleas. He<br />

died in 1764, aged 67 years. He married 12th Nov. 1724,<br />

Abigail, daughter <strong>of</strong> Mr. David Loring, and Jan. 27, 1757, Mrs.<br />

Mary Stuart. His children were :<br />

105. I. A son, born Jan. 9, 1725, died Feb. 19, 1725.<br />

106. n. David, April 14, 1726, died June 28, 1734.<br />

107. III. Abigail, May 20, 1728, married Jan. 10, 1754, Seth<br />

Blossom.<br />

108. IV. William, Dec. 8, 1730 (called Jr.) He resided in the<br />

house which was his father's. He belonged to the East<br />

Parish, and was a member <strong>of</strong> the East Church. He married<br />

twice, 1st in 1753 Lydia Knowles <strong>of</strong> Eastham. She died<br />

April 16, 1764, and he married 2d, Sept. 30, 1764, Mary<br />

Cobb, Jr. He died May 3, 1819, in his 89th year, and she<br />

died May 20, 1817, aged 85; His children born in <strong>Barnstable</strong><br />

were: 1, Abigail, March 15,1754; 2, David, Aug.<br />

23, 1755 ; 3, Temperance, Jan. 2, 1763 ; 4, Sarah, June 26,<br />

1765; 5, Mary, Nov. 2, 1766; 6, William, Nov. 19, 1768:<br />

7, Matthias, July 26, 1770 ; 8, Ebenezer, baptized July 26,<br />

1772 ; 9, Loring, born March 18, 1774. Of this family,<br />

William resided in his father's estate, and died June 24,<br />

1844, and his brother, Dea. Ebenezer, a tanner, did also in<br />

the first part <strong>of</strong> his life. He removed to the West, where<br />

he died a few years since. Matthias was a hatter and<br />

resided in Boston. Loring was largely engaged in the salt<br />

manufacture at the common field, and died March 21, 1841.<br />

His son Loring now owns his manufactories.<br />

109. V. Alice, born April 18, 1757, baptized July 30th, 1758,
