acres <strong>of</strong> upland, and the salt marsh, at the north end. It<br />

was bounded westerly by Calves Pasture Lane, northerly<br />

partly by the creek and partly by the land <strong>of</strong> Tristram Hull,<br />

easterly by the lot formerly Samuel Jackson's, and southerly<br />

by the highway. In 1654 the highway was a few rods<br />

farther south, at this place, than at the present time. Mr.<br />

Charles Hinckley is the present owner <strong>of</strong> this lot.<br />

No. 2. Was laid out to Samuel Jackson, who returned<br />

to Scituate in 1647. He sold it to Samuel Mayo, who sold<br />

the same to Mr. Allyn. This lot contained eight acres <strong>of</strong><br />

upland, and the marsh at the north end. It was bounded<br />

westerly by Lot No. 1, north by the harbor, easterly by the<br />

highway (now discontinued) leading to Allyn's Creek, and<br />

southerly by the highway. This lot is now owned by descendants<br />

<strong>of</strong> Mr. Allyn.<br />

No. 3. Was laid out to Mr. Allyn, and contained ten<br />

acres <strong>of</strong> upland, with the marsh adjoining, and was bounded<br />

west by Allyn's Lane or highway to the creek, north by the<br />

harbor, east by the house lot <strong>of</strong> Rev. Joseph Hull, and<br />

southerly by the present highway. This land is owned by<br />

Capt. Matthias Hinckley.<br />

No. 4. Contained twelve acres <strong>of</strong> upland and the marsh<br />

adjoining, bounded on the west by Lot No. 3, north by the<br />

harbor, easterly by the lot <strong>of</strong> the Eev. John Mayo, and<br />

southerly by the present highway. On this lot Rev. Mr.<br />

Hull built his house in 1639, afterwards occupied by his sonin-law,<br />

Mr. John Bursley, and sold to Mr. Allyn about the<br />

year 1650. The first Meeting House stood in the ancient<br />

grave yard on the opposite side <strong>of</strong> the road. This land is<br />

now owned by Capt. Matthias Hinckley. Capt. Thomas<br />

Harris perhaps owns a small portion <strong>of</strong> it.<br />

No. 5, containing twelve acres <strong>of</strong> upland, more or less,<br />

with the meadow adjoining, was the Rev. John Mayo's before<br />

his removal in 1646 to Eastham. It was bounded west-<br />

erly by Lot No. 4, north by the harbor, easterly by the lot<br />

that was John Casly's, and southerly by the highway. The<br />

lot is now owned by Capt. Thomas Harris.<br />

No. 6, contained ten acres <strong>of</strong> upland and the meadow<br />

adjoining. It was laid out to John Casly and by him sold<br />

to Samuel Mayo and by the latter to Mr. Allyn. It was<br />

bounded westerly by Lot 5, north by the harbor, east by a
