Anne Fuller, and had children born in <strong>Barnstable</strong>, namely<br />

III. Sylvanus, Oct. 13, 1721.<br />

IV. Thankful, bap'd Nov. 1725. A Thankful Blush married<br />

Caleb P^rry <strong>of</strong> Sandwich, Oct. 1758.<br />

John Blush, son <strong>of</strong> Reuben, married Nov. 15, 1739,<br />

Mary, daughter <strong>of</strong> Ebenezer Goodspeed, Jr., and had John,<br />

Nov. 14, 1745; Mary, Feb. 17, 1748, (who had Mary<br />

Crocker by Enoch Crocker, Auaj. 20, 1765;) Stacy, March<br />

26, 1751, and Eebecca, Oct. 14^ 1756.<br />

Reuben Blush, son <strong>of</strong> Reuben, married May 11, 1747,<br />

Ruth Childs, and had Reuben, 20th Oct. 1747 ; David, 11th<br />

May, 1749;<br />

Oct. 1755.<br />

Thomas, 21st July, 1751, and Elizabeth, 19th<br />

Silas Blush, son <strong>of</strong> Reuben, married Nancy Tobey <strong>of</strong><br />

Falmouth in 1747, and had Rebecca bap'd Jan'y 25, 1748-9 ;<br />

Abigail, June 2, 1751 ; Mercy, Sept. 30, 1752 ; Silas, Aug.<br />

1, 1756; Elisha, Jan'y 15, 1759, and Mercy, April 18,<br />

1762.<br />

Silas <strong>of</strong> this family married Chloe, daughter <strong>of</strong> Nicholas<br />

Cobb. His widow is now living at the advanced age <strong>of</strong><br />

ninety-six.<br />

His brother Elisha was a very worthy man ; but he<br />

made one sad mistake, he married for his first wife a woman<br />

because she had lands and money.<br />

ELISHA BLUSH AUNT "BECK" AND HER MUSEUM.<br />

Elisha Blush married for his first wife June 2, 1790,<br />

Rebecca Linnell—familiarly known as "Aunt Beck,"—the<br />

third wife and widow <strong>of</strong> Johif Linnell, deceased. The first<br />

wife <strong>of</strong> the latter was Mercy Sturgis, his second, Ruth, a sister<br />

<strong>of</strong> Rebecca, and both daughters <strong>of</strong> James Linnell. By<br />

Mercy and Ruth he had no issue, by Rebecca a daughter<br />

Abigail. By the ecclesiastical law <strong>of</strong> England it was then<br />

illegal for a man to marry his deceased wife's sister, and the<br />

issue <strong>of</strong> such marriages was declared illegitimate. Under<br />

this law the other heirs <strong>of</strong> John Linnell claimed his large estate<br />

to the exclusion <strong>of</strong> his widow and daughter. Before<br />

anv settlement was made, the daughter died, the widow
