Aaron Cogswell commenced to preach at the age of eighteen years. He<br />

was orda<strong>in</strong>ed to the Gospel m<strong>in</strong>istry Jan. 15, 1843. After ord<strong>in</strong>ation he<br />

preached two years <strong>in</strong> Hantsport, five years <strong>in</strong> Hampton, thirteen years <strong>in</strong><br />

Clementsport, n<strong>in</strong>e years <strong>in</strong> Beaver River, seven years at St. Mary's Bay, and<br />

five years <strong>in</strong> Lake George, N. S., where he was <strong>in</strong> 1884, <strong>in</strong> active service as a<br />

preacher of the Gospel. He was a member of the Western Baptist Associa-<br />

tion. His long m<strong>in</strong>istry was one of marked success, attended with large acces-<br />

sions to the churches where he labored.<br />

Cogswell, was born July 9, 1797, <strong>in</strong> Cornvvallis, N. S He married<br />

^Naucy Mann<strong>in</strong>g, daughter of Rev. Edward Mann<strong>in</strong>g. Mrs. Cogswell<br />

died, and Mr. Cogswell married, March 9, 1829, -Ann Bcnily, daughter<br />

of John and Miriam (Gillette) Bently. She was born Jan 20, 1803, <strong>in</strong><br />

Cornwallis, N. S. Mr. Cogswell died Oct. 6, 1855. Mrs. Ann Cogswell<br />

died June 4, 1864.<br />
