Francis RimoLPHus Cou^wkli <strong>in</strong> early life entered a wholesale store of<br />

woollen goods <strong>in</strong> Boston. He rel<strong>in</strong>quished his mercantile life, and served <strong>in</strong><br />

the War of the Union as Chief Clerk of Depot Quartermaster, Army of the<br />

Potomac, Mobile Bay, and other places. Subsequent to the war he for a time<br />

carried on a cotton and rice plan'ation ; but <strong>in</strong> 1S76 he married, and settled<br />

down <strong>in</strong> the city of New Orleans. La. He was for some years chief clerk of a<br />

l.irge sugar ref<strong>in</strong>ery.<br />

Henshaw. She was born Dec. 24, 1S45, <strong>in</strong> Shrewsbury, Mass., where<br />

they resided.<br />

married, Sept. 17, 1843, Mnjor Asahel B. I-'olsont, son of W<strong>in</strong>throp<br />

and Mary (Noyes) Folsom. He was born <strong>in</strong> Dorchester, N. H., where<br />

they resided. Major Folsom died Oct. 16, 1845. Mrs Folsom removed<br />

to Iowa City, Iowa, subsequently to ]51oom<strong>in</strong>gton, and to Normal, 111.<br />
