(Strong) Cogswell, was born June 6, 1832, <strong>in</strong> Boston, Mass. She<br />

married, Sept. 20, 1858, Rev. E. O. Jameson, son of Daniel and Mary<br />

(Twiss) Jameson. He was born Jan. 23, 1S32, <strong>in</strong> Dunbarton, N. H.<br />

<strong>The</strong>y resided <strong>in</strong> Concord, N. H , Salisbur}-, and Medwa)', Mass.<br />

EniRAiM ()RcrTT Jamlson was of Scotcli-Irisli desrent and of the fourtli<br />

generation <strong>in</strong> this country. Hugh and Thomas Jameson were first to land here.<br />

Hugh' Ja.mesox, son of James Jameson, came from the Xortli of Ireland<br />

to <strong>America</strong> about 1740. settled <strong>in</strong> Londonderry, N. H., and became one of the<br />

orig<strong>in</strong>al proprietors of .Starkstown, afterwards Dunbarton, N. H.<br />

Daniel- Jameson, Esq., Mr. Jameson's grandfather, married Hannah Burnham,<br />

daughter of Dea. Abraham Burnham, whose sister, Sarah Burnham,<br />

married Capt. Adam Cogswell [169]. Mr. Jameson prepared for college <strong>in</strong><br />

Gilmanton Academy, N. H., graduated <strong>in</strong> 1S55 from Dartmouth College,<br />

N. H., and <strong>in</strong> 1858 from the <strong>The</strong>ological Sem<strong>in</strong>ary <strong>in</strong> Andover. Mass. He<br />

was orda<strong>in</strong>ed to the Gospel m<strong>in</strong>istry March t, i860, and <strong>in</strong>stalled Pastor of<br />

the East Congregational Church, <strong>in</strong> Concord, N. H. He resigned, and was<br />

<strong>in</strong>stalled, Nov. 9, 1865, Pastor of the Union Evangelical Church, Salisbury,<br />

Mass. This pastorate he resigned July i, 1871, and was <strong>in</strong>stalled. Nov. 15,<br />

1S71, Pastor of the First Church of Christ, <strong>in</strong> .Medway, Mass., of whicJi he<br />

was still Pastor <strong>in</strong> 1884.<br />

Mr. Jameson was a member of the New England Historic. Genealogical<br />

Society, of Boston, Mass. Some of his published writ<strong>in</strong>gs were: A Historical<br />
