immense fortune, which w.is <strong>in</strong>herited largely by Rev. Jonathan Cogswell, 1). 1). [289]. and<br />

his children. Mr. Cogswell's own mother was Mrs. Abigail (Cogswell) .Smith [ 283 ]. <strong>The</strong><br />

record of her family was received too late to be <strong>in</strong>serted <strong>in</strong> its projjer place, and is given here :<br />
