professional and public life. His service as Commissioner from Connecticut<br />

<strong>in</strong> care of the sick and wounded soldiers dur<strong>in</strong>g the War of the I'nion wa^<br />

especially valuable. Dr. Cogswell was elected Rejjresentative to the Legisia<br />

ture of the State In public and <strong>in</strong> private, <strong>in</strong> church and <strong>in</strong> state, he was<br />

both useful and honored.<br />
