Luther Cogswell [517 ] was a soldier of the Revolution <strong>in</strong> Capt. Oliver Root's company.<br />

He was ordered to march tu \e\v York. Jidy 11. 1776. His term of service ended Dec. 5,<br />

1776. He became a Shaker of West Tittsfield, Mass. Mrs. Cogswell was born 1762, and<br />

died Jan. i, iS;y.<br />

Salome Co^sw.ll [518 ] died <strong>in</strong> West I'ittslield. .Ma^,-.. at the age uf eighty-seven years.<br />

Joshua^ [73] and Mary Cogswell, was born July i, 1730, tw<strong>in</strong> brother<br />

of Benjam<strong>in</strong>, <strong>in</strong> Coventry, Conn. He married ^<br />

Sarah McK<strong>in</strong>ncy. She<br />

was born <strong>in</strong> W<strong>in</strong>dsor (now Ell<strong>in</strong>gton), Conn., where they resided. Mrs.<br />

Cogswell died April 15, 1754. Mr. Cogswell married- McKiwicy,<br />

sister of his first wife. He is supposed to have died about 1763.<br />

Benjam<strong>in</strong>'^ Cogswell, (yosfnuT^, SavmclK yohir, yohn^), son of<br />

Joshua' n3] and Mary Cogswell, was born July i, 1730, <strong>in</strong> Coventry,<br />

Conn. He married, 1751, Lois Tluimpsoii. of Coventry, where they<br />

lived. Mrs. Cogswell died .March 26, 1800. He died about i 82S. His<br />

grave is <strong>in</strong> the Cemetery of South Coventry, Conn.
