<strong>in</strong> Chebacco Parish, Ipswich, Mass. He married, 1748, EIi:abeth<br />

Evelcth. <strong>The</strong>y lived <strong>in</strong> Ipswich, Mass. Mr. Cogswell died Dec. i,<br />

1805.<br />

William'' [39 1 and Mary [36] (Cogswell) Cogswell, was born June 28,<br />

1728, <strong>in</strong> Chebacco Parish, Ipswich, Mass. She married, Jan 17, 1750,<br />

Dca. Thomas Biirnhai/i, son of Thomas and Hannah (Cogswell) Burnham,<br />

of Chebacco Parish, Ipswich, Mass., where they lived. Mrs. Lucy<br />

Burnham died Nov. 4, 1775. Dea. Biirnham married, June 11, 1778.<br />

'^Elizabeth Burnha<strong>in</strong>. He died Ma)- 18, 1799.<br />

Thomas Burnham was deacon of the church <strong>in</strong> Chebacco Parish <strong>in</strong> the m<strong>in</strong>istry of Rev.<br />

John Cleaveland, and was the last one to "l<strong>in</strong>e the hymn and set the time." He was for<br />

eight years teacher of the school <strong>in</strong> Chebacco ; subsequently, he was much employed <strong>in</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g<br />

wills, settl<strong>in</strong>g estates, and other public bus<strong>in</strong>ess. He died May iS, 1799, aged seventy-two<br />

years. His residence was not far from the site of the late residence, 1SS3, of Cajrt. Moses<br />
