1 8, 1751, <strong>in</strong> Ipswich, Mass. She married. Jan. 18, 1770, Col. Edzvard<br />

Wigghsworth, son of Rev. Samuel and Martha (Brown) Wigglesworth.<br />

He was bom Jan. 3, 1742, <strong>in</strong> Ipswich Hamlet, Mass., where they<br />

resided. Mrs. Wigglesworth died without children. Col. Wiggle.-;-<br />

worth married aga<strong>in</strong> and had children. He died <strong>in</strong> 1S26.<br />

Er.WARD^ WicGLESwoRTH (SamuiT-, Michael^) graduated from Harvard<br />

College <strong>in</strong> 1761. He was commissioned <strong>in</strong> 1776 the colonel of the Thirteentii<br />

Massachusetts Regiment <strong>in</strong> the army of the Revolution, by the Prov<strong>in</strong>cial<br />

Congress of Massachusetts. He held an important command, 1776. <strong>in</strong><br />

.•\rnokrs Lake Chanipla<strong>in</strong> squadron. He served as Colonel until 1779 Pres-<br />

ident WasJi<strong>in</strong>gton appo<strong>in</strong>ted him Collector of Newburyport, Mass.<br />

death, Sept. 3, 1768.<br />

was settled pa.stor <strong>in</strong> 1654. .and cont<strong>in</strong>ued <strong>in</strong> the office over fifty years, until his death, June 10,<br />

1705. In 16.S4 he decl<strong>in</strong>ed the presidency of Harvard College.<br />

Ret. Ed-jjjrd tn^xknjoit/i, D. J.)., an uncle of Col. \\ igglesworlh, was the first Hollis<br />

Professor of <strong>The</strong>ology <strong>in</strong> Harvard College; elected Jan. .24, 1722. He filled this chair until<br />

his death, Jan. 16, 1763, and /•
