(69) (Capt.) STEPHEN OLMSTED, b. at E. Haddam, Conn., Aug. 17,<br />

1721; d. Apr. 26, 1778; m. Hannah Fuller, dau. <strong>of</strong> Timothy Fuller <strong>of</strong> Middletown,<br />

Conn. He died <strong>of</strong> smallpox, contracted <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> army, and was buried<br />

<strong>in</strong> E. Hampton cemetery. The <strong>in</strong>scription on his gravestone is as follows:<br />

" Let no rude step disturb <strong>the</strong> ground<br />

Where this repos<strong>in</strong>g dust is found."<br />
